I hope all families had a great Labor Day weekend. It will be a while until we have another day off. That will be good; we can establish a routine. For September the learning themes will be: Red, #2, Octagon, and Creation. We will find red things and octagons in our environment. The children will have an opportunity to play in the sensory table, scooping and pouring beans. We will pretend to go on a picnic and also on a camping trip. The children will decide what items to pack in a suitcase. The class will taste red raspberries and red, yellow and green apples. The children will enjoy dancing to the Hokey Pokey and Head Shoulders Knees and Toes. They"ll learn some Nursery Rhymes. Students will choose which ones to read and act out. Activities to develop fine motor skills will be offered such as dabbers, painting, tracing and peeling stickers. Large motor skills will include kicking, throwing, catching and rolling a ball. PDO students will make a Creation book and learn a song about Creation. Work continues on letter/picture recognition. A=apple, B=Bee, C=cat, D=dog, E=egg, F=flower. The Alphabet song will be sung. It looks to be a busy, fun filled month. PLEASE make sure your child arrives on time otherwise they will miss out on some of the classroom activities!
