This week's Studies:
Jesus Time: Paschal greeting
John 21
English Standard Version (ESV)
Jesus Appears to Seven Disciples
21 After this Jesus (A)revealed himself (B)again to the disciples by (C)the Sea of Tiberias, and he revealed himself in this way. 2 Simon Peter, (D)Thomas (called the Twin), Nathanael of (E)Cana in Galilee, (F)the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples were together. 3 Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We will go with you.” They went out and got into the boat, but (G)that night they caught nothing.
4 Just as day was breaking, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples (H)did not know that it was Jesus. 5 (I)Jesus said to them, “Children, do you have any fish?” They answered him, “No.” 6 (J)He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in, because of the quantity of fish. 7 That disciple (K)whom Jesus loved therefore said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, (L)he put on his outer garment, for he was (M)stripped for work, and (N)threw himself into the sea.8 The other disciples came in the boat, dragging the net full of fish, for they were not far from the land, but about a hundred yards[a] off.
9 When they got out on land, they saw a charcoal fire in place, with fish laid out on it, and bread. 10 Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish that you have just caught.”11 So Simon Peter went aboard and hauled the net ashore, full of large fish, 153 of them. And although there were so many, the net was not torn. 12 Jesus said to them,(O)“Come and (P)have breakfast.” Now (Q)none of the disciples dared ask him, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord. 13 Jesus came and (R)took the bread and gave it to them, and so with the fish. 14 (S)This was now the third time that Jesus was revealed to the disciples after he was raised from the dead.
Major points for Children:
Sin pushes us away (or separates us) from God.
Jesus comes and finds us.
He forgives us, and puts us back together with God.
He gives us purpose (or things to do).
Jesus continually reminds us of His power, love and forgiveness even when we have forgotten Him.
Major points for Adults:
Jesus feeds our bodies with food and feeds our souls with HIS WORD.
Just as Jesus restored Peter to Grace, He works in us through the Holy Spirit to bring us back into the Family of Believers.
Jesus earned Grace for us on the cross. It is for all people who Believe in Him. Our relationship with God is restored and all Believers are Heirs of Eternal Life.
Christ calls us to be Fishers of Men and we need to share the Gospel message of Salvation with others.

Today we continued with the class broken up into a different groups. This is to help those going to preschool in the fall an idea of how centers may be ran in the classroom. It went really well and the students had a lot of fun doing lots of different activities.
Free Choice Play
This is the time in the morning that as we are coming into the classroom we are given the opportunity to explore the room, play with our friends and get ready for a fun filled day in PDO! Today one of our table activities was linking different colored fish. Mrs. Burke helped us get started and then some of our friends linked lots of colored fish together. We had a lot of fun with this activity and had fun identifying all the different colored fish.

BINGO DAUBERS
Today we were able to pick our favorite colored bingo dauber and decorate some butterflies. Bingo daubers are a great way to be creative, work on color identification, self control and holding a writing instrument in our hand. We practiced not going up or down to fast because it makes the paint splatter all over. We had some pretty butterflies when we were all done.

Pre-Writing Skills
We practiced using our favorite color marker to trace zig zag lines from a butterfly to the end of the paper. This activity was to allow the students to start learning how to work left to right and to be familiar with holding a writing instrument.

Bible Story
Today we decorated fish to help us tell the story of Jesus eating fish for breakfast. We had to use our hand muscles to squeeze the glue out and put it on our fish and then we had to carefully turn our fish over and pat it down on our blue paper. We then had to decorate our fish with different colored paper to make a beautiful fish. As we worked on this activity we talked about how Jesus helped his friends catch the fish in their giant net. We also talked about the different colors we were using to glue onto our fish.

NUMBER 10
Today we practiced counting to ten by using ten colorful stickers to put on a caterpillar. This activity was able to help us with our counting skills, our color identification, using our fine motor skills to transfer the stickers from the sticker page to our caterpillar. We also were able to talk about caterpillars and what they become after they are caterpillars.

FLOWER POWER
Today we put the parts of a flower together to helps us get ready to see May Flowers. We first had to identify the first letter of our name, once we had done that we used our hands and finger muscles to squeeze the glue bottle to glue our flower on. We then had to glue on our green stem which we decided looked like a long rectangle, we then had to cut another strip of green paper to make our leaves that we glued on. Finally, we used the glue to trace the first initial of our name and then we got to shake some glitter onto our glue and we had one beautiful flower! Check them out hanging up in our room.

SORTING/MATCHING
We worked on our pre-math skills by sorting colored Easter eggs, we had to work hard to put the two matching parts together to make and Easter egg we then had to find the correct egg carton to put it in. We had fun snapping our eggs together and seeing if there was any candy in them there was not :( Some of did find some fuzzy little chicks in there. It was neat to hear the conversations taking place with Mrs. Linneman about the Easter eggs and the things the students found in their Easter eggs at home.

Caterpillars!
We had fun with Mrs. Burke using tweezers to pick up colored pom poms to place on the correct color of our caterpillars. We were working on using our hand muscles and our pincer grasp to pick up the pom poms with the tweezers. We were also working on color identification and more sorting and matching skills.

DIAMONDS!
We had fun coloring a diamond with our favorite colored crayon. These are going to become part of project we are working on as a class to make a spring picture. We talked about how a kite is the shape of a diamond and on windy days it makes it fun to fly a colorful kite.

THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR
This month we are reading different books about Eric Carle and this week was The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We had the opportunity to watch and listen to the story on Mrs. Horn's computer. It was a different way of listening to a story and a way that we are able to bring technology into the classroom. We had fun watching the caterpillar eat, get fat, have a tummy ache and make a cocoon and then become a beautiful colorful butterfly!

HOP, HOP, HOP
After our morning circle and we prayed for snack each child was given a butterfly when their color was called they brought me their butterfly and then they had to hop over to the line to get ready to wash hands for snack. Below are the pics I took of some of them hopping over for snack, some of them were to fast so I couldn't get a picture of them or it is a blurry picture. This activity was designed to help them with their gross motor, listening skills, following directions and patience. We had a lot of fun with this activity!

MUSIC/MOVEMENT
We did a lot of music and movement today. This class loves to sing and dance and be creative. The first two pictures of us doing the Five Finger Symphony set to Beethoven's Fifth Symphony it allows us to work on self regulation, be exposed to classical music and to work on our clapping skills. The next picture is of us doing Hand are for Clapping another song to help with self regulation and following directions. We then listened to the Butterfly Waltz and used sheer colorful scarves to pretend that we were quite, delicate butterflies we had a lot of fun with this activity. We did a lot of other songs and lots of favorites today as well. Ask your child what their favorite song is at school, you might be surprised by their answer and if they are able to sing it!

Where does your animal live and what noise does it make?
It is amazing to watch how much the children are learning from doing the animal board. We had fun today making the different noises of the animals and deciding where they live. Ask your child tonight what animal they had today and what noise it makes. This activity is designed to help students with their listening skills, following directions, learning to take turns and patience. They love this activity and are always eager to start it.

CIRCLE TIMES
Below are the books we read today, we practiced our letter recognition and sounds counting to ten, identifying the colors on our number boards, dressing Mr. Weather Frog for this chilly day we are having. We had fun listening to a flannel board story about 5 butterflies and doing a Finger play about Five Birdies.

OUTSIDE PLAY
It was chilly, windy and cloudy but we still had a great time outside. It has been so neat to see each and every child grow in so many ways and to watch how they have grown in their outside play has been very exciting to watch. As a reminder please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather and outside play.

What a great day in PDO! We had so much fun learning about butterflies and counting to 10 and discovering that we have 10 fingers and toes! I had so much fun singing and dancing with all my little friends today seeing the smiles and hearing the giggles and we jump, spin, clap and stomp just warms my heart. This has been such a fun year what a great group of children with such fun and unique personalities. I hope all my PDO families have a wonderful weekend and find to worship our savior. If you are looking for a church home Zion would love for you to visit us at one of our 4 worship services. We currently have a 5:00 on Saturday and Sunday we have an 8:00, 9:30 and 11:00 service.
