We had a great Tuesday and stayed very busy all day! During Jesus Time, we talked about why we read the Bible. We learned a new Bible song, "The B-I-B-L-E" and talked about miracles. Then we read the miracle about Jesus calming the storm. The story reminded us that only Jesus can do miracles and that Jesus keeps us safe just like He kept the disciples safe in the Bible story.
Check out what else we did today!
We then read a story by Ed Emberly called, "Go Away Big Green Monster". After reading the book we created our own monsters. Each child picked a color for his/her monster, squirted paint on the paper and folded the paper over. It was fun to pull the paper apart and see what was inside!
Smoothing the paper down to move the paint around!!!
Then during Center Time, we worked on our small motor skills and cut out faces to put on our monsters. Some of us chose to put on hair, eyes, nose or a mouth. Some of us liked our monsters plain! :)
During Center Time, we also explored the light table and building blocks. These are special blocks that can only be used on the light table so it was fun to work together and figure out how to build with them. At this center, we worked on social skills of how to ask someone to share, how to solve problems together, and how to let someone know they hurt our feelings.
At the Lego table, we talked about mazes and I challenged the children to come up with a maze using legos. It was a challenge for some to use problem solving skills at first, but after a while everyone was able to figure out how to make a maze for me to go through on his/her Lego board.
Alex was proud of her maze!!!!
All of our monsters!!!!!
Then we went on a shape hunt to find shapes in the main school building. When we found a shape we colored it in on our clipboard. For some of us it was a great review and some of us were introduced to new shapes!
A great Tuesday! See some of you tomorrow!!!!
