Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his
inheritance.
A Happy Belated 4th of July to all!
I had a wonderful and safe holiday; I hope your family did as well.
This week our Bible story is the Jesus healing the blind man.
Mark 8:22-25
One day people brought a blind man to
Jesus. They wanted Jesus to help him to see again. Jesus walked out of
the village with the man. Then Jesus spat on the man's yes and gently
put His hands on them.
"Can you see anything yet?" asked Jesus.
"I can see some people, but they are all fuzzy, like trees walking around."
So Jesus put His hands on the man's eyes
a second time. This time the man opened his eyes and could see
perfectly! He was amazed to see the colorful world and the kind face of
Jesus.
The Children will learn:
Jesus can do miracles
He heals us when we are sick.
This week the Bible story is The Blind Man. Tues.-the Bible craft is making mud and placing it on the eyes of an image of a man's face. Wed.-the group will use markers to color a picture of Jesus and the Blind Man. Thurs.- the class will use crayons to color a mini book of the story. We talked about our eyes and how important they are; a wonderful gift from God. As we sat on the carpet we closed our eyes and imagined what it would be like if we had no vision. We played I Spy, acted out the Bible story, made a list of what we could see with our eyes and made an eye color chart.
Each day students can make a magic wand, paint a picture of a fairy princess or a knight, play with castles, and finger puppets or use a magnetic puzzle to design a castle scene. I am reading books about castles, knights and fairy princesses to the children. I will also share the tales of the 3 Little Pigs and Goldilocks and the 3 Bears.
The classes will hear stories from books written by Eric Carle. Today the stories were, The Hungry Catapillar and Brown Bear. Brown Bear is on a wall in the classroom. I started the story and the students supplied the color and name of each animal. They named every one of the animals. Some even supplied the sound each animal makes. Smart boys and girls! The classes will paint a picture of a brown bear, be introduced to letter B (name sound and B words). We learned that Eric Carle writes stories using few words and illustrates his pictures in bright colors.
We will be outside and in the gym this week. We will work as a group to shake and lift the parachute. We will take turns running and sitting under the parachute. We will feed the birds, tend the garden, play with water, bubbles, chalk and outdoor toys. Inside activities include hopping/jumping into a hula hoop, walking on a balance beam and sliding down a slide.

Two Little Eyes
Author: C.C. Kerr
Two little eyes to look to God,
Two little ears to hear His Word,
Two little feet to walk in His ways,
Two little lips to sing His praise,
Two little hands to do His will,
And one little heart to love Him still.
We had a blast today and hope you enjoy viewing our pictures.
