Exodus 2
English Standard Version (ESV)
The Birth of Moses
2 Now a man from the house of Levi went and took as his wife a Levite woman. 2 The woman conceived and bore a son, and when she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him three months. 3 When she could hide him no longer, she took for him a basket made of bulrushes[a]and daubed it with bitumen and pitch. She put the child in it and placed it among the reeds by the river bank. 4 And his sister stood at a distance to know what would be done to him. 5 Now the daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe at the river, while her young women walked beside the river. She saw the basket among the reeds and sent her servant woman, and she took it. 6 When she opened it, she saw the child, and behold, the baby was crying. She took pity on him and said, “This is one of the Hebrews' children.” 7 Then his sister said to Pharaoh's daughter, “Shall I go and call you a nurse from the Hebrew women to nurse the child for you?”8 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, “Go.” So the girl went and called the child's mother. 9 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, “Take this child away and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages.” So the woman took the child and nursed him. 10 When the child grew older, she brought him to Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. She named him Moses, “Because,” she said, “I drew him out of the water.”[b]
For Children:
God is always with us.
He keeps us safe, just like He kept Moses safe.
Application for Adults:
God sees, hears and knows every thing that happens in our lives.
He is always present in our daily life.
Just as God rescued Moses, He does the same for us.
God decides how best to rescue His people in times of trouble.
It is often in times of trouble that God does His best work.
Although life may seem difficult at times, God is always working in us for good.

Welcome to the second week of Summer Care! I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend. I also pray that families were able to spend time in worship.
This week we will begin our study of Moses. The class learned about Mosses as a baby. They heard how he grew; just as they are growing. In the weeks to come, children will hear Bible stories about Moses/the burning bush, Moses as leader and Moses parting the Red Sea.
Today we heard the story of Moses as a baby. The class sang songs, acted out the story, and learned a finger play to reinforce the story. The boys and girls shared ideas on how to care for a baby. They played a game called Hide and Find the baby. Of course classmates had the option to make a Bible craft relating to this story.
This week other activities include:hopping like a frog; lily pad to lily pad, Play-Doh, music and story time, puzzles, and making a Father's Day card. At recess we finished planting the garden. Other outdoor activities included playing with jump ropes, playground balls, bubbles and chalk. In the sensory table the children found water toys and colored ice cubes.
Lastly, students learned about author Norman Bridwell. Throughout the week I will read Clifford books to the class. Clifford activity sheets will also be provided.
Bridwell Facts;
